Frequently Asked Questions

The things people most often ask before using the calculators.

Is Genba Dentaku free to use?

Yes. Every calculator is completely free, with no account, no sign-up, and no app to install. It runs in any modern browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Do I need to create an account or install anything?

No account is required. If you like, you can install the site as an app (PWA) from your browser for one-tap access and offline use — see the guide — but that is entirely optional.

Which standards and units do the calculators use?

The US edition is built around US standards — the NEC (NFPA 70), ASCE 7, AISC, and ASTM — and uses inch-pound units (AWG/kcmil, inches, feet, pounds, ksi). Always confirm the code edition adopted in your jurisdiction.

Can I rely on the results for design or permitting?

Treat every result as a reference estimate, not a final answer. The tools are not a substitute for the official code or a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Always verify against the current adopted code and your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). See the disclaimer for full details.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit, the site is cached as a Progressive Web App, so most calculators keep working without a connection — handy on job sites with poor signal. Tools that fetch live data (such as weather) still need a connection.

Can I save my inputs or share a calculation?

Yes. Your inputs are remembered in your browser between visits, and the page URL captures the current inputs — so you can bookmark a calculation or send the link to a colleague and they will see the same numbers.

Can I print or export a PDF?

Yes. Each calculator can generate a clean PDF report of the inputs and results that you can print, save, or attach to your project records.

How is my data handled?

The values you enter stay in your browser (local storage and the page URL) and are not sent to our servers. The site uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which set cookies. See the privacy policy for details and your choices.

How do I request a tool or report a problem?

Use the contact page to send feature requests, corrections, or bug reports. Feedback directly shapes which tools get built next.
